Next is proud to present the very exclusive Dr. Romanelli Chuck Taylor All Star. #12 of Converse’s 1HUND(RED) artists series, Dr. Romanelli is known for his cut and sew mash-ups of vintage clothing to make super dope retro reinventions. This particular shoe is part of the (RED) campaign, so anyone purchasing this shoe also has a clean conscience, as part of the proceeds go to anti-retroviral medicines for those afflicted with AIDS.
So since regular MTV doesn’t play music videos anymore, instead they transfer all their video related shows onto sub-channels. Well the college sub-channel, MTVU (niversity) has a really nice hip hop video show called The Lab, where they play a lot of recent indie and underground hip hop music. This first installment was hosted by Pete Rock, who just dropped an album by the way. For those of you not on a college campus, fear not, because MTVU is nice enough to stream the videos online, and I’m nice enough to embed it on the blog:
It features videos that are never on TV from the likes of MF DOOM, Big Noyd, Sheek Louch, Del the Funkee Homosapien, and Pacific Division. Enjoy.
Just moments after Derek Anderson became a free-agent last night, the Brownies resigned him to a 3 year, $20 million dollar contract. Which is cool and all, but what about Brady? I guess Anderson exceeded everyone’s expectations, taking us to 10-6, but I thought Brady Quinn was the given for the 2008 season. We’ll see how these two quarterbacks pan out next season, and hopefully one of the two can take us to the playoffs this time.

Speartalks on JoshSpear.com just did a nice little article with the founder of Married to the Mob, Leah McSweeney:
“For starters, her small company — born from a porch stoop, a plan to make a few tee shirts, and a wholesome dose of Irish irreverence — has taken the streetwear scene by storm natural disaster. Add that to M.O.B,’s well curated collaborations with artists like Fafi and KAWS, the blog headed up by Futura’s daughter, the window display at Colette in Paris, and the, ahem, vibrant personality of Ms. McSweeney herself, and there you have it: The perfect recipe for a street label that bitches (and boys) go crazy over.”
I haven’t seen the big 3 blog this yet, so maybe i’m the first to catch wind?
Rhianna performed her 2007 mega-hit “Umbrella” at the Brit Awards backed by psychedelic, progressive, rock group The Klaxons. Check out that laser light show!
